We mothers know that this is the time in a young woman’s life where the decisions she makes, will affect the rest of her life --for better or for worse. |

Jocelyn and each of the other speakers design every session with the goal
of challenging the girls to number their days, wisely using their time
to make a difference for the Kingdom of God, while avoiding traps that
will derail them from God’s best and highest purposes for their
lives. The young ladies have fun! They are encouraged to make quality
friendships, spend their time in worthy pursuits, love the Lord with all
of their heart, mind, soul and strength and to honor their parents.
At the conference, we have worship times before and after each speaker.
Every song You and your daughter(s) will attend the main sessions together. After each large session the girls will break up into small groups led either by an "older woman" or by godly young women who are just enough older than the girls to be great role models and friends. The purpose of the small group is to give an opportunity for discussion and personal application of the material which has been taught. Mothers are welcome to attend the small groups with their daughters but most choose to attend the mother's sessions. This is our recommendation because, in past conferences, we've found it to be difficult for some of the girls to share in a small group setting in the presence of other moms they don't know. We've also found that there are topics of special interest in our role as mothers which we haven't time to address in any other way. So, when the girls break into small groups, we offer special sessions just for us moms. Materials and lunch are included in the conference price. If your finances allow, the girls (and many moms!) enjoy purchasing an official Beneath The Surface T-Shirt. The entire conference is overseen by our husbands and sons who ably administrate hundreds of logistics: set up, online registration, prayer, audio/ visual, etc., keeping every aspect of the conference running smoothly. They work for days before you arrive and then, while you are on your way home, they tear down and clean until the facility is ready for its next church service. We are incredibly grateful for both their physical and spiritual “covering” which frees us to focus entirely on the part we like best - ministering to you and your daughters! Prior to the conference, each speaker will give their presentation before a group of women whom we highly respect and our husbands and older sons. This group will offer rich council to ensure each session is clear and doctrinally sound. If you are unable to attend, we would urge you to consider sending your daughter(s) who will be well loved, well taught, well cared for and will return home with much for the two of you to talk about. In fact, every girl who attends will probably have a lot she wants to share with the entire family!
